Citation Oregon Pinot Noir 2006

The finest Pinot Noir we offer, Citation Oregon is created by looking beyond the limits of geographic boundaries to attain the highest quality possible. After scouring the furthest reaches of the state and our own vineyards and valley, the most promising vineyard blocks were selected and fermented in small vessels. Punched-down twice a day by hand, the wine was later gently pressed to French oak barrels and aged for the next 18 months. Careful selection of the best barrels produced a small quantity of deep, luscious Pinot Noir.

Deep garnet in color, its youthful aromas of black cherry and cinnamon meld with those developed in the bottle: sliced mushroom and forest floor. Mouth-filling flavors of cherry pie and vanilla sit atop the wine’s still maturing silty tannins, as faint echoes of oak linger on the finish.
